Welcome to My Portfolio, Hello. I’m Sophie Eizen, an emerging PR Pro excited to learn and grow. I am ready to be apart of the change I want to see in the world.

I’m a fourth-year Grand Valley State University undergraduate student. I’m majoring in Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations. As a creative individual, I thrive on handwork, humor, and opportunities to learn and grow.

I'm strong-willed and compassionate, driven by a desire to positively impact the world. I'm passionate about human rights, economic equality, and the importance of being informed about politics and current events. As an introverted extrovert, I enjoy spending quality time with loved ones, whether cozying up with a warm dinner and a movie or getting dressed up for a night out on the town. I am organized and direct, and I love seeing a project completed.

I know what I want to achieve, but the following steps are unclear. I want to do work that aligns with my values and beliefs. I'm eager to find a career that will allow me to travel and live a fulfilling life. I know there's external pressure to have a clear plan for the future, but I'm trying to stay true to myself and my timeline. I'm excited to see what's in store. As I navigate this transition, I remind myself that it's okay not to have all the answers and that life is full of unexpected twists and turns. Life's complexities can be daunting, but I've learned to approach them with a growth mindset, recognizing that the journey is an opportunity for growth and self-discovery.

GrandPR, Allendale, MI — Internship, Student Run Integrated-Communications Firm, Account Associate [June 2024 - Present]

  • Helped implement and execute outstanding campaigns while maintaining the highest ethical standards.

  • Provided strategic public relations advice and implemented unique communication methods from a fresh perspective.

  • Effectively communicated with the Account Executive, team members, and C-Suite and stayed current on Slack and Basecamp.

  • Completed research, media lists, email scripts, promotional signage, and more for clients.

  • Collaborated with team members to ensure every project reached a successful conclusion.

GVSU Pew Campus Parking Services, Grand Rapids, MI —Front Desk Lead [August 2022 - Present]

  • Assisted students, faculty, and staff with issues and questions pertaining to parking permits and violations. 

  • Managed conflict and communicated effectively with customers to resolve complaints and concerns about permits, tickets, and event passes.

  • Collaborated with co-workers and supervisors to find solutions to various parking-related issues and supported supervisor with daily operations and reports.

Sunnybrook Country Club, Grandville, MI — Event Operations Internship [May 2024 - August 2024]

  • Efficiently communicated with management and coworkers to deliver a first-rate guest experience.

  • Enthusiastically served patrons with food and beverages and maintained the dining ambiance of events.

  • Prepared room for dining by clothing tables, setting decorations, condiments, plates, and utensils.

  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron needs.

Crispellis, Berkeley, MI —Host, Cashier, and Carryout [January 2022 - August 2023]

  • Greeted guests throughout the shift, accommodated seating requests, and communicated effectively with co-workers and managers to provide an excellent guest experience. 

  • Received orders at the cash register, effectively communicated with the kitchen, and completed assigned opening and closing duties.

  • Managed carryout order stations, kept orders separated and organized, packaged carry-out, and ran food to tables.
